This element type is manufactured by the same process as the SG element, but has two start helical cut to form the heated section or hot zone, and are complete with the terminal assembly at one end. The split cold end allows the current to flow through one spiral and return through the second via the small non-spiralled bottom end of the element. Use of the types SG and SGR is recommended for the applications where service conditions are severer or where the temperature in the furnace chamber exceeds 1400°C.
